Dear Ministers, International Organizations Leaders, Public Health Leaders, Policy Makers, Researchers and Colleagues...
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 12th World Congress on Public Health to be held April 27 - May 01, 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. Organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) (www.wfpha.org) and hosted by the Turkish Public Health Association (TPHA) (www.t-hasak.org). The Congress will address the enormous challenges and opportunities for public health organizations worldwide and be an opportunity for getting together with the various professionals and disciplines related to Public Health, at a national and international level and share the latest ideas and experiences in public health education, research and practice in the wonderful environment of Istanbul, Turkey.
The organizers invite local, national and international public health leaders, advocates and students to submit abstracts dealing with the major cross-cutting sub-themes. These abstracts should demonstrate the link between public health education, research, and practice and improved health outcomes.
They should also showcase innovations, practices, tools and transferable lessons from across the globe that will help us make a decided difference in global public health. The Abstract Submission Deadline is extended Friday, October 17, 2008.
The Congress theme is Making a Difference in Global Public Health: Education, Research, and Practice. Sub themes have been defined by the National and International Planning Committee. We invite you to submit abstracts in the following general topics: (The 2nd Call for Abstracts website)

II. Public Health Research & Policy Development (19 sub-themes)
III. Public Health Practices Around the Globe (21 sub-themes)
